Twenty-five years ago I was 8 years old. I was living in the suburbs of Cleveland, destined more likely than not (based on my last class reunion survey) to become a teacher or a social worker.

The guy pictured above (Keith Shocklee) was busy creating the sound that we would all come to recognize as Public Enemy with a team of revolutionary talent and great vision. They would alarm, shock, and empower audiences around the world in the years to come, and change the entire future of music for everyone, forever.

In a few minutes, I get to walk out the door with him as my business partner to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Public Enemy, at the Grammy Museum in LA. I am humbled, proud and confident that this is one of many milestones to come.

Congratulations, Keith. You deserve it all.
