If you were at our January #FFF you’ll know that we blew the roof off the sucker with our guest DJs Tameil & Tiga of the infamous Brick Bandits collective. We even had a cameo from Chicago’s #GhettoTekz crew on the late night tip and I don’t think anybody survived the free vodka. Uproot Andy is the original gangster of the blossoming global bass scene. Basically, he founded our favorite dance party in NYC- you know about Que Bajo, right?- he was blending cumbia, kuduro, and dancehall before the hipsters even caught on, and we’ve been bumping his mixtapes since the groundbreaking Guacharaca Migration in 2008. Expect Afro-Latin heat and blends that will make your head spin.
Contakt founded Brooklyn’s fantastic TURBOTAX party, the no-cameras-no-request-no-crying monthly that has brought us everyone from Kode9 and Four Tet to Blondes, DJ Rashad, and Untold. He is one of a handful of American Djs to ever appear on London’s Rinse.FM station, the world’s premier radio station for emerging ‘bass music’ movements. We caught Contakt’s set at PS1’s Warm Up this summer we knew we had to find a way to bring his brand of upfront, eccentric house music vibes to #FFF.
